COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Pro Football Focus is known for their in-depth analytical study of players both at the college and professional level. With the 2019 season rapidly arising, the company released their rankings of all 130 starting quarterbacks in FBS football.

As many expected, Clemson's Trevor Lawrence and Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa led the way as the top two quarterbacks respectively. Oregon's Justin Herbert followed the Heisman front-runners as the No.3 on their list. Following those three, the list could be up for anyone to rise or fall throughout the season.

Texas A&M's Kellen Mond graded out as the 25th ranked quarterback in the FBS - fifth among SEC quarterbacks. The junior from San Antonio falls just behind Tennessee's Jarrett Guarantano (No.21), LSU's Joe Burrow (No.17), Georgia's Jake Fromm (No.9) and Tagovailoa.

"Mond is set to be the next Jimbo Fisher quarterback to hear his name called early in the NFL draft as he took control of the Aggies offense a year ago," PFF Cam Mellor said. "His career-high overall and passing grade are great signs for the future as he strung together some big-time performances and totaled 3,110 passing yards with another 657 on the ground. A threat with the ball in his hands either from the pocket or outside, Mond can move defenses and is sharp with his reads, something he’ll have to rely on with Texas A&M’s gauntlet of a schedule this year."

Mond started all 14 games for the Aggies last season, finishing the season with 3,107 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 474 yards and scored seven touchdowns. Mond is perhaps best known for his 74-72 seven-overtime victory of LSU last season in which he would throw for 287 yards and six touchdowns.

Mond's dual-threat ability will be key to the Aggies success this season if the offensive line does not improve. Last year, the team allowed 35 total sacks, 34 coming to their starting quarterback. Expectations are high for the 20-year-old gunslinger as he hopes to lead A&M to victory in a competitive SEC West division.

"I think that Kellen is so much farther along in the discussions and the things we talk about," A&M coach Jimbo Fisher said. "He's able to learn not just what I'm trying to say but have opinions about what we should do and why we should do it. I think he understands how we're attacking things now."

The Aggies are set to begin the season on Thursday, Aug. 29 against Texas State at Kyle Field. To check out PFF's full list of starting quarterbacks, click here
