Report: Aggies WR Evan Stewart Returns To Practice

According to a report, the sophomore recevier has returned to practice as of this time.

COLLEGE STATION -- Evan Stewart missed several practices after being ruled day-to-day with an ankle injury. Now, the Texas A&M sophomore receiver could be back in time for Saturday's Maroon and White game.

According to a report by College Football Headlines, Stewart returned to practice Monday for the first time in two weeks. A&M coach Jimbo Fisher has not confirmed the report as of this time.

Stewart, one of A&M's top pass-catchers in 2023, is expected to be a focal point of the offense this coming fall under new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino. The Frisco native proved his vertical presence last season while working with three different quarterbacks, averaging 12.2 yards per catch.

One of the top playmakers in the 2023 recruiting class, Stewart was at his best when working with fellow freshman Conner Weigman. A native of Cypress (Texas), Weigman proved to be the most consistent passer of the trio that started in 2022, throwing for 898 yards and eight touchdowns against zero turnovers.

Fisher said last month that Petrino has already built an exceptional rapport with both Weigman and redshirt junior Max Johnson, mentioning how he's taken the time to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of both players to elevate the level of play in practice.

"You coach every guy differently," Fisher said. "It's not just scheme. You'll call different plays for different players depending on what his technique is. You do that for every player you ever coach."

Stewart's status for Saturday's spring football game at Kyle Field remains in question entering the final week of practice.
