Kansas State Wildcats Cornerback Transfer Will Lee III Verbally Commits To Texas A&M Aggies

Lee started 11 games for the Wildcats as a boundary corner in 2023.

Texas A&M has seen a surplus of talent leave College Station via the transfer portal. For the first time, the Aggies are seeing names come to Aggieland instead.

Kansas State cornerback Will Lee III announced his verbal pledge to the Aggies via X on Sunday morning. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining with A&M.

Lee spent one season in Manhattan before electing to enter the transfer portal earlier this month. The 6-3 cornerback visited College Station over the weekend, reuniting with former K-State offensive coordinator Collin Klein.

Multiple schools offered Lee after he announced his intent to transfer from K-State, including Florida, LSU, USC, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, South Carolina, Michigan State, and Louisville, among others. On Wednesday, Lee narrowed his choices down to Louisville, Washington, and A&M.

In 11 games, Lee totaled 42 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He saw most of his reps on the outside but also took several snaps as the Wildcats' nickel defender.

Prior to his arrival in Manhattan, Lee played for Iowa Western Community College in 2022. As a freshman, Lee totaled 34 tackles, one tackle for a loss, one interception and 10 pass breakups.

After one season, Lee received offers from Florida State, Oregon State, Arkansas, Iowa, UTSA, and Hawaii, among several other FBS schools, before committing to K-State.

Lee's commitment marks is the first major move via the portal since the hiring of Elko last month. Lee should have a chance to see significant action early with cornerbacks Tyreek Chappell and Deuce Harmon entering the portal earlier this month.

A&M secondary will be revamped under Elko in 2024. Jacoby Mathews and Bryce are expected to stay in College Station for now, but safety Demani Richardson will enter the NFL after staying for a fifth season. Jardin Gilbert, who suffered a season-ending injury earlier this fall, also elected to enter the portal last month.
