The Aggies close out the season against the No. 14 LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. Nationally, all attention will be on LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is a Heisman Trophy candidate. If he can put together a big game on the last day of the season against A&M, it could help his chances considerably.

There's not much more to play for with regard to the Tigers, as they won't get an opportunity to defend their SEC West title. But the team is ready to rally around Daniels.

“If you want to look at numbers, Daniels’ numbers are starting to pull away from everybody,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said. “He’s nearly 1,000 yards in total offense ahead of the next candidate. If we want to look at numbers, this race is starting to distance itself.”

On the other side of the field, the Aggies will be playing for pride and for interim coach Elijah Robinson. A&M won their only game since the firing of former coach Jimbo Fisher, and Robinson would like to keep the momentum going into whatever bowl game they end up playing in.

Kelly said the team can't get distracted by the Aggies.

“You can spend the day thinking about, ‘Well, A&M is without a head coach. What’s their mindset? How are they going about this?’ " Kelly said. "I’ve been in this long enough to know whatever side of that they come out on really doesn’t matter.”

Aggies offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino moved from the coaches box to the field for the first time all season in the win over ACU. Robinson indicated Petrino will finish out the season on the sideline where he can have more of a personal coaching relationship with young quarterback Jaylen Henderson.

“I wanted to get coach (Petrino) down on the field to help and so he could control everything he needed to from adjustments and so the communication just wasn’t over the headsets,” Robinson said.

Live game updates will appear here after kickoff...
