'50-50 Race': Texas A&M In Danger of Losing Five Star Commit Terry Bussey?

According to reports, two teams are battling it out for five-star Texas A&M Aggies commit Terry Bussey, and it's a tight race.

The No. 1 priority remaining in the 2024 recruiting cycle for the Texas A&M Aggies is holding on to five-star athlete Terry Bussey until he puts pen to paper on February 7.

According to reports from On3 recruiting expert Sam Spiegelman, there is only one team remaining that the Aggies will be battling for that signature - the LSU Tigers.

Unfortunately for the Aggies, the Tigers seem to be a real threat to steal the Timpson (TX) star.

Terry Bussey

According to Spiegelman, the Tigers and the Aggies are locked in a '50-50' battle for Bussey, following his mid-week visit to Baton Rouge.

Bussey, the No. 11 overall player and No. 1 athlete in the nation, has been committed to the Aggies since September and is the headliner of the 2024 class for Mike Elko.

However, the Tigers seem to be making a serious impression on the star recruit.

“They’ve been pushing and they’re still pushing,” Bussey Told On3. “We have a great relationship and I talk to them every day. I talk to multiple people on that staff every day and it’s been great building a relationship with them.”

That said, the Aggies do have one serious advantage in the race to land Bussey - he is set to take his final official visit to College Station this weekend.

That visit not only gives the Aggies the final impression with Bussey but also allows him to spend more time with the new coaching staff, including Elko and new defensive backs coach Ishman Artiside.

“I’ve been getting to know the new staff. It’s been great building a relationship with Coach Elko, Coach (Artiside), and I’m building relationships with other coaches they already have on staff," Bussey told On3. "They’re great guys, great people, they know a lot about football and they’re great football-minded people.”

Bussey amassed 11,342 yards from scrimmage and 169 touchdowns on offense, as well as 270 tackles, 24 interceptions (four of which he took back for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, and five touchdowns on special teams over his four years with Timpson.
