The Texas A&M Aggies are making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018, and have opened up as a 3.5-point underdog against Penn State in the opening round per BetMGM. The Nittany Lions are -165 on the early moneyline.

The Aggies (25-9, 15-3 SEC) are the No. 7 seed of the midwest region and will play No. 10 Penn State (22-13, 10-10 Big Ten) on Thursday evening.

A&M lost its second-consecutive SEC Title game on Sunday after an 82-63 defeat at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide in Nashville. The Aggies lost in 2022 to Tennessee in Tampa.

Against Alabama, A&M shot just 29.7 percent and will look to bounce back to their normal offensive form in the first round of the Big Dance. Star guard Wade Taylor IV had possibly his worst game of the season against the Crimson Tide, scoring on just three of 11 shots from the floor and turning the ball over four times.

Both the Aggies and Nittany Lions have been spectacular against the spread this season. A&M is 23-11-0 compared to Penn State's record of 20-13-2, while the Aggies are 4-1 against the spread in their last five, and 8-2 in their last 10 overall. The Nittany Lions have covered the spread in four straight.

A&M and Penn State will tip off on Thursday at 8:55 p.m. CT at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA.
