TCU's own Horned Frog, Cam Brown, a junior, has been named Big 12 Pitcher Of The Week for the second time this season.  It is the fourth time this season a TCU player has received a weekly Big 12 honor this season.

For the first time in his career, Mr. Brown (well-named, he is) pitched a complete shut-out game on Sunday against the Kansas Jayhawks.  He faced two batters over the minimum.  He finished the game with eight strikeouts, giving up a mere two hits.  Two Jayhawks made it to base in the first inning, the only ones who managed it, stranded by the end of the inning.  A lead-off single in the sixth was nullified by a double play.

Brown was previously honored on March 6 for his stellar performance on the fifth of that month against Rice, in which he and Louis Rodriguez shut out the Owls, 7-0.  In that game, he thew 7 consecutive shutout innings.  Rodriguez was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week that same week for that same game.

Prior to that, Austin Davis was named Big 12 Player Of The Week on February 2, and for his own performance in the game against Rice, Rodriguez was named Freshman Of The Week on March 5.

Needless to say, this is all great news for the Frogs, who are riding high on a six-game winning streak after a somewhat slow start of the season.  Currently, their record stands at 16-9 (4-2 in conference).  The Horned Frogs will be on the road for five straight games starting Tuesday night at Arlington.  First pitch is set for 6:00 pm.
