College Football Tour Visits Appalachian State

Boone, North Carolina is set within the Blue Ridge Mountains which embrace the picturesque Appalachian State University. Few settings can rival the rolling peaks and rising bluffs that beautify Boone. It's no wonder they are the Mountaineers - a geographically fitting name that equally embodies the spirit at App. The raucous fanbase that crowds Kidd Brewer Stadium on gamedays showcases this fervor for the black and gold.

The Mountaineer Walk is a highlight of pregame as fans gather to welcome their team. The spirit squad forms a pathway as the Marching Mountaineers blast "Hi Hi Yikas," and the App State players high five a crowd of fans. The team walk ends at one of the most scenic stadiums in college football. The Appalachians appear to rise to the sky from the bleachers. Blanketed in forestry, the mountains snuggle Kidd Brewer Stadium, creating a captivatingly cozy venue.

Yosef represents the mountaineer spirit at App State. Cloaked in black and gold flannel and wearing a black hat to match his dark beard, Yosef struts his hiking boots around the stadium, entertaining the Mountaineer masses. "Yosef" is mountain talk for "yourself," so if App State is in your blood, you have successfully found "Yosef."

The Appalachian State Marching Mountaineers provide the soundtrack for gamedays in Boone. The beats from the band invigorate an already booming barrage of chants and cheers from an active and loyal crowd. The screams of "APP!" and "STATE!" being volleyed from opposite sides of Kidd Brewer stand out as remarkably powerful.

As the autumn colors brush over Boone, there are few destinations that can compete with Appalachian State. Gamedays in the high country span from breathtaking to boisterous. Mountaineer mania pulses through every fan, and visitors leave with a lasting impression of a peak college football experience.
