Updates, Score, Game Notes: No. 1 Tennessee vs. Florida Series Finale

The No. 1 Tennessee BaseVols (36-3, 16-1 SEC) are set to take on Florida (23-16, 6-11 SEC) in Gainesville for the series finale at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday. SECN+ has the stream.

The Vols are looking for a series sweep on Sunday, as UT won the first two games 8-2 and 3-0 powered by terrific pitching from Chase Burns, Blade Tidwell and Camden Sewell across the two games.

Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello will make his return to the Vols dugout for the series finale, as his four-game suspension for bumping an umpire last Saturday has been served.

If Tennessee sweeps Florida, they will set SEC history with the best start to SEC play with a 17-1 record. The Vols will also set a program record with a win by recording their eighth series sweep. The 2022 Volunteers are tied with the 1994 Vols at seven series sweeps.

The Vols have started SEC play 16-1, tying the best start in conference history with the 1951 Vols. No team has started conference play 17-1.

Tennessee's starting lineup in the series finale against the Gators is below:

-Christian Moore starts at DH and Christian Scott starts at LF, as Jared Dickey was bothered by his foot against Florida on Saturday.

-Jorel Ortega has stayed in the No. 2 spot all weekend.
