Final Injury Report: Tennessee vs. Austin Peay

It's about time for Tennessee to kick things off against Austin Peay. The Vols (1-0) are America's No. 9 team, preparing for the home opener. The expectations are high in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the atmosphere should be electric. However, injuries will hold several players out of action. The big news is that quarterback Nico Iamaleava will play after WBIR previously reported he was questionable for action.
Tennessee Injury Report: Austin Peay
- Nico Iamaleava, QB - IN. According to WBIR Channel 10, the talented true freshman was battling a wrist injury leading up to kickoff, but he will be available against the Governors.
- DeSean Bishop, RB - OUT. According to head coach Josh Heupel, true freshman running back DeSean Bishop won't miss the entire season. Still, he will be sidelined for multiple months after suffering an injury in practice.
- Cooper Mays, C - OUT. Mays underwent a "minor procedure" before the year and could be ready for week three against Florida.
- Keenan Pili, ILB - OUT. Pili suffered an upper-body injury last week against Virginia and will be out for several weeks, according to Heupel. Expect Elijah Herring and Arion Carter to assume some of those snaps.
- Elijah Simmons, DT - OUT. Simmons didn't make his season debut last week and won't against Austin Peay, though there is optimism here.
- Tyree Weathersby, DL - OUT. True freshman defensive end Tyree Weathersby will miss the entire season after suffering an injury in practice.
