Hendon Hooker Dishes On Josh Heupel, Future of Tennessee's QB Room

Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker was on the Paul Finebaum Show on Thursday and spoke about his relationship with head coach Josh Heupel
In this story:

Quarterback Hendon Hooker was a key part of the resurgence of Tennessee football. The two most important pieces in a successful football team are the quarterback and the head coach. Heupel is an elite head coach, and Hooker was sure that for Tennessee, too.

Hooker described his relationship with head coach Josh Heupel as “amazing” on the Paul Finebaum Show on Thursday. Hooker added that they spent time together Thursday during Tennessee’s scrimmage. He commended Heupel for pushing him to get better and helping him succeed.

Hooker and Finebaum also talked about the NFL Draft, and Hooker referred to just being talked about in the process as a blessing. He is proud to see himself on television and in mock drafts. His name has been surging, going higher and higher in those mock drafts. Hopefully, wherever he lands, he will form a strong bond with his new coach as he did with Heupel.

When teams call his former coach to hear more about Hooker, surely Heupel will have a ton of positive things to say. Hooker was a great teammate, showing that yesterday when he hyped up current starting quarterback Joe Milton III on the show.

Hooker sees him as a complete quarterback with both his arm and legs and a great leader for the Vols going forward. With the spring game next weekend, Milton will be able to showcase those skills soon, allowing the public our first look at Milton as the starter in some time.
