Hendon Hooker Joins Good Morning Football

Former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker joined NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" to discuss his upcoming season with the Detroit Lions.

Detroit Lions quarterback Hendon Hooker joined Good Morning Football on NFL Network on Friday morning to talk about football and his Detroit Lions. This comes within a week of current Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton III featuring on the very same show. It is great to see NFL Network and the program specifically showing some Tennessee love. Hooker has really enjoyed his time with the Lions so far. He is eager to learn as offseason programs have already begun. He is still limited in what he can do physically, but he is going through the motions in his mind, as he surely cannot wait to do the reps for himself.

Hooker made sure to mention that Jared Goff, whose locker is right beside Hooker’s, has been a big teacher, helping him learn as he so desires. Goff has been a mixed bag of a quarterback so far in his career, but he has taken the Rams to the Super Bowl with an elite season. He knows what it takes to win and is coming off of somewhat of a bounce-back year last season. Goff should be a good mentor forward for Hooker, whether it is for a few years or just this season. As far as his new head coach, Hooker highlighted that Dan Campbell really cares about the players, and Hooker is excited about the two-way communication between him and his boss. We will see how Campbell manages Hooker and the quarterback room overall in 2023.
