In this story:

After handling the Virginia Cavaliers in week one, Tennessee now turns its attention toward Austin Peay. The two squads square off this weekend in Neyland Stadium, the first time fans have seen the team at home since the Missouri win last season.

Tennessee is also now up to No. 9 in the country after a few interesting week-one subplots. They now appear to be the No. 3 SEC squad in the eyes of the public after Florida State routed LSU on national television. Tennessee's first true test doesn't come until week three against Florida, but Austin Peay provides another opportunity for the coaching staff and players to iron out the new offense with quarterback Joe Milton III.

Head coach Josh Heupel has been very purposeful with how he calls games for Milton. It's worth wondering if he had this date circled on the calendar to allow Milton to open things up. The sixth-year senior faced two Power-5 defenses in his last two starts played well in both, and should now be able to stretch the field at a higher rate. There will definitely be growing pains, but that's why you use games like this to figure things out.
