Quick Hitters From Tennessee's Spring Roster Release

Tennessee released its spring roster earlier today, and there are several noticeable takeaways from the roster, including the absence of linebackers Henry To'o To'o and Quavaris Crouch.

Heupel has left the door open for both players to return, but both were left off the roster. To'o To'o returned to Knoxville over the weekend, but he has yet to remove his name from the transfer portal, which is something Tennessee expects from him to go through spring practice. One source indicated to VR2 on SI, To'o To'o reached out to his teammates to discuss the return, and it was something well received. We will see what more comes out of that.

Other noticeable absences were Shawn Shamburger and Deangelo Gibbs. Both of the Peach State products are not with the Tennessee team at this time. Shamburger briefly entered the transfer portal during the winter but then removed his name.

Gibbs was not around the team for most of the fall last season, but a potential return was still in the cards. It is now apparent Gibbs will likely no longer be a part of Tennessee's program.

One noticeable return was Ramel Keyton, who opted out last fall. The sophomore receiver was an early starter before going through a rough stretch of jobs and then opting out for COVID reasons.

Len'Neth Whitehead and Dee Beckwith are still listed as running backs, which is expected at this point, but a potential position change for both could be possible.

The three players suspended due to the incident at Stokely Hall are listed on the roster, but Tennessee has yet to update those players' status.

A familiar pair of faces remain on the support staff. Patrick Abernathy and Kevin Simon both remain in their role, which is key for Tennessee as they have been excellent during their time on Rocky Top.
