Tennessee-Alabama Kickoff Time Set

The Tennessee Volunteers and Alabama Crimson Tide have their kickoff time for next Saturday's matchup in Tuscaloosa.

On Monday, the kickoff time for next Saturday's game was announced between the Tennessee Volunteers and Alabama Crimson Tide. The two teams will play at 3:30 p.m. E.T. The game is shown on CBS in the prime time slot for SEC football.

The game will be shown following the conclusion of the Air Force versus Navy game that kicks off at noon E.T. that same day. It will be the second week in a row the Volunteers are put in the prime time spot for SEC football on CBS. This upcoming weekend, they will host the Texas A&M Aggies in Neyland Stadium, with that game also being placed in the 3:30 p.m. E.T. slot.

This plays well into Tennessee's advantage for increasing their rank among the college football teams. They now have two games in a row on a prime-time slate at the height of football season. At 4-1 through five games of play and now 17th in the country, according to the most recent A.P. poll, the Vols are in a position to make some noise.

The game in Tuscaloosa will mark a chance for Tennessee to get their first win against Alabama on the road since 2003. They failed to end a similar losing streak earlier this season against the Florida Gators, as Tennessee hasn't beaten them in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium since the same year.

However, being winners of last year's matchup with the Crimson Tide in Knoxville, the Volunteers also have a chance to start a winning streak after ending a 15-game losing streak against Alabama. The Vols getting another 3:30 p.m. time spot puts them in a position to once again elevate themselves into the elite company of other top teams in the college football landscape and in possible contention for the college football playoff.
