The Halftime Report: South Carolina vs. Tennessee
Tennessee vs. South Carolina didn't disappoint last season, and it's been another eventful first half between the two. We've seen fake punts, long touchdowns, turnovers, and everything in between. Tennessee will receive the opening kickoff in the second half with a two-score lead.
Both teams made mistakes and didn't separate themselves until the first half's final seconds. The Vols got a pick-6 courtesy of corner Kamal Hadden, which jumpstarted them and could be the differentiator if they score to start the second half. Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III threw a bad interception in the first quarter but has played even and on time since. Meanwhile, South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler has made impressive throws, but the Vols front seven is overwhelming South Carolina's offensive line.
The Vols have controlled the game from the opening kick, but South Carolina still hangs around. Head coach Shane Beamer has prided himself on winning these weird, disjointed types of football games, and Tennessee can't let the Gamecocks stay in the game. Head coach Josh Heupel hasn't opened up the playbook downfield yet, and he hasn't had to for the most part. They had success when they did earlier, and we'll see what the second half of action brings us.
