Watch: Vols, Heupel increase competition, build culture with dodgeball battle

“Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge.”

Since the Josh Heupel era has begun, several Tennessee players have tweeted and raved about the culture change that’s already taking place under their new coach.

This morning, that culture reached a fun new level.

To cap off their typical morning workouts, the Vols engaged in a dodgeball battle, the video of which was tweeted a few minutes ago.

 “The name of the game is to win the game,” Heupel said.

The Vols’ coach also referred to himself as “the human assassin,” and said that players should stay away from him.

Can you imagine taking a rubber ball to the face, courtesy of one Harrison Bailey?

That would be even worse than when Peter La Fleur annihilated White Goodman while blindfolded. 

In the words of the great Pepper Brooks: “Ouchtown, population you, bro!”

All joking aside, it’s good to see that Heupel already seems to value quality time and competition-building with his players. And it looks like the team agrees.
