Watch: Tennessee HC Rick Barnes Reacts to Thrilling Loss in Austin

AUSTIN, Tex.– Despite a 16-0 run from Tennessee in the late stages to tie the game, the BasketVols fell to the Texas Longhorns 52-51 in heartbreaking fashion on the road.

Tennessee had six seconds to make a game-winning basket. Zakai Zeigler sprinted down the court and dished to an isolated Josiah-Jordan James, who had made three triples during the game and been an instrumental part in the Vols' comeback. However, James' shot rimmed out, and the Longhorns held on to win by one-point in heartbreaking fashion for Tennessee.

Following the game, Vols head coach Rick Barnes met with the media in Austin to discuss the close loss, applauding his team's ability to make a near miracle comeback but noted the team got on their heels early. The former Longhorn head coach also touched on how special it was to be back in Austin coaching, saying 'I don't know if anyone could have it better than I've had it.'

"I didn't want it to be about me," Barnes said regarding returning to Texas, "But it touched me."

Up next for the Vols is a Tuesday night home matchup against Texas A&M, as UT will look to make it four straight conference wins.
