2029 Wide Receiver Jacorey Shockley Talks Sophomore Season and Tennessee Football

Football is back in the state of Georgia as the high school season was kicked-off by the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic.
The McEachern (GA) Indians traveled to Kell (GA) to play the Longhorns as one of the games featured in the prestigious event.
Both participating teams are well-known programs that often produce high numbers of collegiate prospects.
McEachern is headlined by 2028 five-star safety Casey Barner, but the Indians are equipped with plenty of D1 caliber prospects and commits alike.
Jacorey Shockley

2029 McEachern (GA) four-star wide receiver Jacorey Shockley is a name to know for Volunteer fans.
Shockley is projected to be one of the best players in the country, and not only at the receiver position, but overall.
In a recent Rivals ranking reveal for the 2029 class, Shockley name was not hard to find.

Shockley checks-in as the 9th best player in the 2029 cycle and is embracing it after a nice off-season of work to add to his game.
"I feel like I've been studying the game more, like taking my game to the next level. I know my natural ability can speak for itself, but me actually watching film to increase my football IQ and take my game to the next level. Y'all will see very soon," Shockley said.
Although the talented prospect did not compete in the game, Vols on SI would catch up with the Top 10 sophomore following the conclusion of the game.
Shockley will make his 2026 season debut this week as the Indians travel to the Sunshine State to face West Broward.
"I can't be more ready to start this season," Shockley said. "It's been a great summer of preparation for the McEachern Indians. I'm just ready to get out there with my guys. I can't wait."
McEachern came out firing on all cylinders and never looked back. The Indians went on to win the contest 40-10. Shoockley witnessed this from the sideline and is eager to be out there with his brothers.
"I'm so proud of my team," Shockley said.
"We put in blood, sweat and tears this summer, so like, I just feel like it showed (tonight). It doesn't matter who is out (of the game), the standard is the standard. McEachern playing McEachern football. So, I love what I saw tonight," Shockley explained.
As mentioned earlier, McEachern is home to quite a few talented prospects, allowing the Indians to have iron sharpening iron at practice and training day. Shockley, as talented as he is, will definitely continue to get better as he has the task of finding open space with a guy like Casey Barner roaming the defense.
"I feel like Casey Barner impacts me a lot," Shockley expressed.
"I personally feel that he is the best kid (player) at any position. So, yeah, going against him every day has helped me a lot, and I get the chance to make him better. So, it's iron sharpening iron, for sure," Shockley finished.
Shockley's Recruitment

From a prospect's point of view, Shockley admits that "hometown school," UGA, Miami, and Oregon are standing out to the talented sophomore.
The Tennessee Volunteers have also made an impression on the Peach State product.
"Yeah, Tennessee man, they've been in contact. I think I'm going to try get up there this season. I haven't checked the schedule, but I'm going to look very soon," Shockley said.
Josh Heupel and the Volunteers have been on a war path in terms of their relentless pursuit of talented pass catchers, including fellow Georgian, Travis Smith Jr.
The offense builds numerous opportunities for receivers get get one-on-one shots to make plays, and Shockley has found a common ground that would make the fit nearly perfect.
"I feel like our (McEachern) offense is very similar. I feel like I've been in their system already. I like how they throw the ball to their receivers and let them make plays."
In closing, the coveted 10th-grader would reflect on what it is that he looks for in a school as the recruiting process rolls on.
"I look at the culture, how the culture surrounds the team. I look at how the coaches coach, I try to look at everything. I'm not just going to a school trying to make it to the next level. I want it to be a real family. I want to be a part of something," Shockley finished
