The Tennessee Volunteers have shifted a lot of attention in their recruiting endeavors to the defensive side as of late. With guys like Sammy Brown, Williams Nwaneri, and Boo Carter in Tennessee's sights, there is another explosive guy on that side of the ball who has been in touch with the Vols. That young man is Aydin Breland, and I checked out his film to see what I could find out about the 6'5, 320-pound talent from Santa Ana, California.

For someone listed as 320 pounds, Breland has an uncanny amount of burst. Breland's get-off speed makes him a tough block for any offensive lineman. On multiple plays, you will see him shed a block and move stride for stride with the running back as they try to beat Breland to the edge. With as much speed and burst as Breland has, his strength, pound for pound, maybe his greatest asset. Now and again, Breland will get stuck on a block, but more often than not, the shed is quick and violent, and on plays where he is not accounted for, he delivers a powerful blow to guys in the backfield.

Even on those aforementioned plays where Breland does get caught up, he almost always ends up where the ball is. His pursuit is elite, and he seems to be in on every play near the line of scrimmage. Shoot, he even dropped into coverage and made plays a few times. From the tape, Breland is a guy that not only can but will line up anywhere on the line. Whether it is from the interior or off the edge, the rising Senior pops out in a big way from whichever spot he starts at. All in all, if the Volunteers can snag Breland, who was at this weekend's 865 Live recruiting event, the defensive line will improve. He is an elite prospect who has played legit big dawg ball at Mater Dei, home to guys like Bryce Young and Amon-Ra St. Brown. With the Vols being extremely active recruiting defensively, Breland will be a name to watch closely for the Vols, who were one of the first schools to offer him.
