In this story:

Tennessee was host to many visitors this past weekend as the Volunteers played Uconn in what ultimately ended in a blowout. One of those visitors was Cason Groves.

Groves is a 5'11, 150-pound corner from Nashville, Tennessee. The 2025 corner currently plays at Franklin-Simpson High School in Franklin, Kentucky. He took the time after his visit to talk with Volunteer Country and had a lot of positive things to say and talk about.

“It went great, the atmosphere was great, and the game was entertaining as well because their defensive scheme is set up very well, and it’s entertaining to study their corners and add it to my bag,” the young corner states. He then goes on to talk about what caught his eye about the corner group, and he responds, “Gabe Jeudy-Lally, his defense was straps today - he had a great strip for a touchdown. In the long run, it’s always good to look at the things he does and take them and use them on Friday nights because if college coaches are teaching him those techniques, I’m positive coaches are looking for that on film.”

He was asked about his expectations before the visit and how Tennessee lived up to them, and he stated, “The expectations weren’t set as high, but I will say it was more than I’ve experienced at any other visit, so it was definitely one that I won’t forget.” He was also asked about the coaching staff and if he got the chance to talk to anyone. “I talked to the recruiter, Aaron Amaama; he was really cool and a very nice person.”

The Franklin Simpson corner then dives deeper into the atmosphere itself by saying, “The atmosphere was GREAT. I mean, it was loud, and everyone was engaged. Just seeing everyone having a great time was awesome. Pregame warmups were unmatched on the field. I've seen a lot of players I’ve been talking to over social media, and it was cool finally getting to see them and study their game, so I could say the atmosphere was great.” He responded afterward with a specific connection he has with a current Volunteer commit: “I talked to Kaleb Beasley; we had a conversation; he’s a really cool dude, but I’ve talked to Kaleb over social media, so we already knew each other before.”

Finally, he states he would like to take another visit by saying, "Yeah, I’m probably going back to UT on November 25th for the Vandy game,” and then says, “Tennessee will most definitely play a part in my recruitment moving forward.” Groves has made it known that he enjoyed his visit a lot. This recruitment could be one to pay attention to moving forward.
