Impact Analysis: What Does Dylan Lewis Bring To Rocky Top?

2025 Tennessee Volunteers corner commit Dylan Lewis (Alpharetta, Ga.) is one of their early additions in the junior class, and he brings a lot to the table.

The Vols have circled the 2025 class as a big cycle for this program. They've prioritized several top recruits in that class for years now, and those names that were early at the time are now entering the spotlight. One of those names is Georgia corner Dylan Lewis, a 2025 defensive back that Tennessee first offered over 16 months ago.

Fast forward to the middle of Lewis's junior season, and he is now committed to Tennessee, choosing them over Auburn, Clemson, and others. While he's only the No. 463 prospect on the 247Sports' composite rankings, Lewis was a great addition for this staff. He checks all the boxes that defensive backs coach Willie Martinez looks for, which is why they identified him so early.

Over the past few years, Tennessee has reshaped its corner room by sticking to its instincts and trusting early evaluations. They want long, physical players that compete, and it helps if they come from an elite high school background. Lewis fits that billing to a tee, which is why he could become an early favorite of this staff when he eventually gets to campus.

Prospect: Dylan Lewis

Projected Position: Boundary Corner

Vitals: 6-0 and 180 pounds

School: Milton High School (Alpharetta, Georgia)

Frame: Already carries a good deal of mass with over a year left in one of the country's top high school football weight rooms. Lewis already carries a 6-0 frame that has steadily progressed over his first three years in high school. Has the arm length to knock footballs out and attack wide receivers in their chest at the line of scrimmage.

Athleticism: A strong linear athlete who has excellent ankle dexterity. Depending on a matchup's leverage, Lewis can chop his feet and pivot inside or outside. He gets to his top speed quickly and makes seamless transitions in his backpedal to a full-sprint downfield.

Instincts: Lewis is coming to hit first and ask questions later. He walks the line between being over-aggressive and just the right amount of physical, but he walks it better than most. He plays with a strong pace and has a natural feel of how a play should progress.

Polish: Tennessee's only other 2025 commit? 2025 corner Shamar Arnoux, Lewis's teammate at Milton High School. Their coaching staff has produced numerous well-polished corners over the years, and Lewis is no different. He treats every rep with unique attention and has developed a formula to disrupt routes that work for him.

Bottom Line: Lewis is a strong second addition to a class founded on competitive nature and technique. He will walk onto Rocky Top prepared for everything in the college environment and will understand the expectations. He's been one of the most underrated corners in the southeast over the past few years, but Lewis is now becoming a big name.
