Commitment Day Preview: Final Thoughts On Jordan Ross

In this story:
Alabama pass rusher Jordan Ross has been eyed by programs across SEC country for several months. After long deliberation over the summer, the four-star defender is down to Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. He was initially eyeing a winter decision, saying he could wait until the traditional signing day in February to make his announcement. However, plans change fast in the recruiting world, and he is now announcing this evening.
Sources around Ross's recruitment have felt positive about Tennessee's chances from the beginning. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner has gelled with the 6-5, 225-pound force - Ross has an NFL body, and few defensive line coaches produce pro-ready talent like Garner. Ross flirted with Florida and Georgia earlier this offseason, but the momentum stayed with Tennessee in the past few weeks. You can't discount the in-state Crimson Tide from making a move, and Ross likes what Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is building down in Austin, Texas, but on the morning of Ross's commitment, we feel Tennessee is in the driver's seat.
Ross plans to announce his decision live on the On3 Youtube Channel at 8:00 PM EST.
