In this story:

Ensworth High School defensive lineman Ethan Utley has set a commitment date for March 28. He will decide between Michigan, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Texas, and Tennessee, and the Vols are believed to be in good standing with him. The two sides have developed a close relationship, though Utley hasn't decided yet.

While Utley will make a spring commitment, he's still planning to take summer official visits. He set up one with the Tennessee Volunteers and announced it on Sunday afternoon. Utley will be on campus from June 13 - June 16, and it's the only official visit he's set to date.

Tennessee defensive line coach Rodney Garner has a pre-existing relationship with Utley's mother, which has set the tone for this recruitment since the beginning. The Texas Longhorns are very active in this one and are a program to watch. The Vols will fight it out with them between now and March 28 to land Utley's services, as he's been one of their top prospects since the start of this recruiting cycle.

Tennessee's 2025 Recruiting Class

  • George MacIntyre, QB
  • Justin Baker, RB
  • Joakim Dodson, WR
  • Jack VanDorselaer, TE

  • Tyler Redmond, CB
