Prospect: Jadyn Davis
Projected Position: Quarterback
Vitals: 6-0.5 and 202 pounds
School: Providence Day School (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Frame: Davis doesn’t have much of a vertical advantage, but he’s done a strong job distributing muscle mass. He’s already up to a verified 202 pounds, and likely only has 20 pounds to add over his college career.
Athleticism: A plus athlete. Doesn’t have the frame to hold up with ten plus attempts in college, but is an improviser at heart. Davis keeps his eyes up when breaking contain to find plays downfield.
Instincts: Instinctual awareness is one of Davis’s best traits. He knows how and when to create out-of-structure, and frequently does.
Polish: Providence Day did a strong job of running different concepts and challenging Davis in pre-snap and post-snap. He is a college-ready processor that will have no difficulty stepping into a high-level offense.
Bottom Line: While he may sit behind starting quarterback JJ McCarthy, if McCarthy stays beyond 2023, Davis will immediately compete when he arrives in Ann Arbor. He’s competitive, well-coached, and uber-talented.
