Jaylan Morgan Talks Vols, Other Programs

In this story:
Tennessee has been recruiting yet another in-state prospect. Jaylan Morgan is a 6-0, 180-pound safety in the 2025 class from Rockvale High School in Rockvale, Tennessee. He was recently crystal-balled to Tennessee back in November by Steve Wilfong from 247Sports. He's the No. 227 prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. Morgan took the time to speak with Volunteer Country about his recruitment.
He was asked if his overall recruitment has been good, and he responded, “It’s been great. There have been a lot of appealing conversations with coaches about how certain teams operate within their organization. I’m just trying to narrow it down.” He also says, “Alabama, USC, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Stanford have been in contact with me the most recently. They all have made me feel like a priority, such as by reaching out to me often, making sure I have an opportunity to spend time with the coaching staff, and inviting me to things, just all of the little things of that nature.” He then took the time to explain what each school has done to make him feel like a priority and for him to connect so well with the program.
- USC: “They send me the most letters and messages out of all of the colleges.”
- Wisconsin: “They reach out to me pretty often.”
- Stanford: “They have only offered a couple of kids at my position, and they seem to put me at the top of my class.”
- Alabama: “They reach out to me often, and they send me mail; they also constantly want me involved in activities.”
- Tennessee: “They reach out to me almost every other day, checking up on me and inviting me to events they have, whether it’s games or visits.”
He then dives deeper into his relationship with Tennessee. Morgan states, “I would say I am pretty close with the staff; I talk to them pretty often. Multiple times a week. Coach Banks, Coach ET, and Coach Danny are people with whom I’m really close. I would say I connect to them in specific well because they make me feel like I am a priority to them, not just asking me or conversing with me about football.”
Talking about visits, the in-state target states, “This summer, I will have all my visits planned out, but I am going to hit as many as I can, so I know I’m making the best decision.” Tennessee seems to be in a really good position for the in-state safety and hasn’t let off the gas thus far in his recruitment. They have many visit opportunities coming up, so getting Morgan on a visit again would be a huge plus for the Volunteers.
