Jordan Young Cuts List Down To 13 Schools

2025 four-star safety Jordan Young (Monroe, N.C.) cut his recruitment down to 13 schools, which included the Tennessee Volunteers.

Tennessee has built its recruiting philosophy around connections and family. It's what has made them successful in the first few years on the recruiting trail under head coach Josh Heupel. They have tapped into the family piece of the recruiting equation in more ways than one - they are heavily involved in the recruitment of four-star safety Jordan Young, the younger cousin of former Tennessee edge rusher Byron Young.

Jordan hails from Monroe, North Carolina, and had a strong junior season at Monroe High School. He totaled 386 receiving yards, four touchdowns, and 19 tackles in 2023, earning looks from various high-major programs nationwide. Thursday afternoon, he cut his list down to 13 schools: Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and USC.

Young stopped by Knoxville, Tennessee, over the summer and left strong reviews about his time on Rocky Top. There's still much time left in his recruitment, but the Vols have made an early impression. Defensive backs coach Willie Martinez has lost various contributors to the transfer portal this offseason - reshaping Tennessee's secondary won't be an easy task, but landing players like Young would accelerate the process.
