Local 2023 Receiver Ayden Greene Discusses Vols Offer

2023 Powell High School (Tenn.) standout wide receiver Ayden Greene has been on a recruiting tear of late, and Tennessee is the latest offer for the fast-rising prospect.

“It’s great i love all the hype but I haven’t done anything until I’m getting paid, so i keep my mind on the main prize,” Greene said of the recent flurry of offers.

Powell High School is less than a 15 mile drive from the University of Tennessee, and Greene is familiar with the school.

“One of my brothers graduated from UT, so i know quite a bit,” Greene said of Tennessee. “It’s a good school, has nice facilities, they have all the tools to be great, and i think

they are about to get on track.”

“I got a text from one of my coaches that they where gonna offer,” Greene said. “Then coach lowe called and said UT is about to offer, then i got on with Coach (Kodi) Burns and they offered.”

“He told me I am very talented, and he sees potential in me and for me to keep grinding and don’t settle,”Greene recalled of the conversation with the Vols Wide Receiver coach.

“He’s a great guy,” Greene said. “We didn’t get to talk very long but just off of our conversation he was a great guy, good coach and he is somebody who will make me better if I were to go to UT.”

“I don’t know much about what they run and all of that,” Greene said of Tennessee’s new offense. “If i had to make a guess, it’s very up heat and fast tempo, so paying attention and locking in will be a big factor.”

So what makes Greene’s game special?

“I have great body control while tracking the ball and l’m tall and long, so it makes it tough for a defender to get to the ball which I think plays a big role in my game.”

The 6’2.5”, 170 pound receiver also holds offers from Tulane, Marshall, Pitt and Eastern Kentucky.
