2024 four-star offensive tackle Daniel Calhoun is a massive guy in any crowd. On the field, even amongst other giants as a Georgia High School player, he sticks out like a sore thumb in a good way. Calhoun's sheer size and ability have him as a standout recruit in the trenches for several schools, including the Tennessee Volunteers.

Calhoun has an upcoming visit on Friday at Rocky Top, and similarly to other prospects that have visited and will be visiting, Josh Heupel will get his stab at selling the program to what could be the next core group of Tennessee football. The behemoth of an offensive tackle has two brothers before him that played Power 5 ball, with brother Vincent playing OL for Minnesota from 2016-2017 and brother Chris on the other side of the line for Wake Forest from 2015-2018. Calhoun is listed at 6'6.5" and 355 pounds, a total unit. He transferred to Walton before this season, where he will protect Wake Forest commit Jeremy Hecklinski. With other visits to Georgia, Texas, Auburn, and Alabama, this coming weekend will be imperative for Tennessee's efforts to get Calhoun on board.

Prospect: Daniel Calhoun

Projected Position: OT

Vitals: 6-6.5 and 355 pounds

School: Walton High School (Marietta, Georgia)

Frame: Has measured north of 6-foot-6 multiple times and is believed to be between 355 and 360 pounds. He has herculean arms and a nearly 7-foot wingspan, so when he grabs onto a defender, they aren't getting off. I could see a move to guard in the future, but it has enormous upside on the exterior for now.

Athleticism: He has played some High School basketball and was blocked in a very run-heavy offense at Centennial, his previous school. He needs to work on his feet, but he is very aggressive and successful when pulling.

Polish: He has some work to do with his feet, especially as he prepares for more athletic pass rushers at the College level, and is more experienced in run blocking but will see a major bump in pass pro reps this season. At nearly 6'7", he needs to work on staying low with pad level

Bottom Line: Calhoun is a giant. While whichever school he heads to will likely have to deal with growing pains, the upside is unquestionable. As the No. 4 OT in his class, Heupel needs to do everything in his power to pry Calhoun from the grip of Nick Saban and Kirby Smart and bring in Tennessee's most highly regarded OL recruit since Darnell Wright.
