The Tennessee Volunteers have continued to make big moves in the recruiting game, particularly making waves in the 2024 recruiting class. With a couple more commits this past weekend, the Vols came in as the 7th highest-ranked team in On3's latest 2024 rankings.

The headliner for the Tennessee 2024 class is, without a doubt, quarterback Jake Merklinger. The Savannah, Georgia product committed to Rocky Top on March 30, just before a decision came for another 2024 quarterback that Tennessee was in the mix for, Jadyn Davis. With Merklinger locked in, he will add a lot of influence when it comes to the decisions from pass catchers and other recruits that Tennessee goes after. No doubt, Merklinger is the diamond of the Volunteers' 2024 recruiting class. He also just got some protection.

This past weekend, the Vols added to their hot recruiting streak with a pair of commitments. On Friday, Tennessee gained the future services of three-star offensive tackle Jesse Perry, who measures in at 6'6" and 275 pounds. However, the Murfreesboro recruit was not the only offensive lineman to jump on board this past weekend.

The day after Perry announced his decision to commit to Tennessee, an interior lineman announced the Vols of his own. Gage Ginther, another three-star, hails from Fort Collins, Colorado. A tad bigger than Perry, Gage comes in at 6'5.5" and nearly 290 pounds. The two linemen commits bolstered a class that continues to expand.

Coming in behind fellow SEC foes Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, the Vols look to continue to make 2024 moves, as many players have included big orange in their top schools lists, as well as multiple visits coming up. With spring ball going in full swing, Josh Heupel has not put recruiting on the back burner. With his foot on the gas, the Vols continue to garner attention and belief.
