In this story:

Tyler Atkinson is one of the most athletic defenders in America, bar none. The 2026 Grayson High School standout is the No. 12 prospect in his class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He's a native of the Knoxville, Tennessee, area and has been interested in the Vols since his recruitment began. Though several other high-major programs are in pursuit, Tennessee gets a shot to impress him this weekend.

Atkinson confirmed to Volunteer Country that he will attend the Georgia game this weekend. It's his first trip to Neyland Stadium this season, and he'll get a new look at the revamped Vols defense. Defensive coordinator Tim Banks has his unit playing their best football under head coach Josh Heupel, and they get a rebound opportunity against a surging Georgia offense.

Of course, the Georgia Bulldogs are also in play for Atkinson. He has many connections to both programs, and this recruitment projects as a national one over time. Atkinson himself is coming off a first-round playoff win where he totaled 20 tackle and three TFLs.
