Tyreek King Talks Relationship With Tennessee

In this story:
Locking down the home state is priority No. 1 for most college coaching staffs. The Vols have done a great job doing that under head coach Josh Heupel, and part of their success is early evaluations. They got one early eval out of the way by looking in their backyard and finding 2026 Knoxville Catholic wide receiver Tyreek King.
King is a 2026 wide receiver who measures around 5'11, 165 pounds. King holds offers from plenty of high-level schools outside of Tennessee, which include Michigan State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Auburn, Arkansas, Wisconsin, and more. Tennessee sent their offer to the young receiver back in March and has been in contact since.
King has been on multiple visits, but he plans on taking another visit shortly. "I'm going to take a visit real soon," the 2026 prospect stated. He was asked what about the Tennessee coaching staff intrigued him, and he responded, "They all show love, and they make sure I feel welcome. Stuff like that."
The Knoxville Catholic athlete then talks about the Tennessee culture and coaching staff by saying, "Really just the coaches; I like everything about it; they are a good school." What he said excites him and makes him look forward to building a relationship down the road. He then goes on to talk specifically about his potential future position as coach by saying, "I'll say coach Kelsey Pope. I mean, every time he gets a chance to get in contact with me, he does it," when asked which coach on the Tennessee coaching staff he has been most connected to.
King has already pulled in multiple offers, but it is safe to say that list will grow as he ages. This is a huge step in the right direction for the Volunteers in this recruitment, considering they have been connected with him since before his sophomore season began.
