Longhorns Look to Keep Rolling Against Manhattan

After what was a shaky start to the season, the Texas Longhorns (6-7) seem to be righting the ship through the first two games of their home stand.
They've won two straight, beating Sam Houston State on Tuesday and Mercer on Wednesday, after a disappointing series loss to Cal State Fullerton. Now, they turn their attention to another weekend series against Manhattan (3-8).
Disch-Falk Field has been good for Texas this season, as the Longhorns sport a 5-2 record at home. Lucky for them, this three-game series against Manhattan comes in the midst of a 14-game home stand - their longest such home stand since 2011.
While the Jaspers' 3-8 record might not appear intimidating on paper, the Longhorns cannot afford to take them lightly. Anything can happen and they must stack as many wins as possible during this home stand.

A look at Manhattan's season so far
It is safe to say that the start of the season has not been kind to the Jaspers through 11 games. They started their season 0-5 but have managed to go 3-3 since then, with a pair of wins over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Manhattan by the numbers

Manhattan wins this series if...
Their pitching can do a complete 180 and shut down a Texas lineup that has started to wake up. While that might feel like a tall task, it is likely the best bet the Jaspers have at leaving Austin with the massive upset. Otherwise, it could be a long weekend.
Texas wins this series if...
They keep the momentum rolling from the midweek wins over Sam Houston State and Mercer. No, the competition on the home stand hasn't been the stiffest so far but you can only play who's in front of you. If the Longhorns can keep the bats hot and rolling, then they could stack up more wins to start the home stand.
