No. 15 Texas Blows 11-3 Lead, Falls to Vanderbilt 14-11: Live Game Log
HOUSTON -- It has certainly not been the weekend the Texas Longhorns (7-3) envisioned having when they looked at their schedule before season and looked at the Astros Foundation College Classic.
Friday night saw them overwhelmed by a potent No. 3 LSU Tigers' squad, as the bats were lifeless for a majority of the game. The bullpen did the best it could to keep the Tigers at bay but eventually their lineup was too much and they broke it open en route to a comfortable 6-3 win.
Losing to the Texas State Bobcats, while understandable, came in much more heartbreaking fashion. It was an all out slugfest between two elite offenses, but a game the Longhorns should have won. Launching a go-ahead home run in both the seventh and eight innings, the bullpen would give up both leads in the 11-10 loss.
Now they're back in action one last time from Houston as they look to salvage their weekend against the No. 9 Vanderbilt Commodores.
