Texas' Bullpen Implodes in Heartbreaking 11-10 Texas State Loss: Live Game Log
HOUSTON -- Saturday marks an opportunity for the Texas Longhorns (7-2) to get back in the win column and start another winning streak while snapping Texas State's (6-3).
The Longhorns entered Friday night's contest against LSU riding a six-game win streak, hoping to make it seven with an early season upset. Unfortunately, that result was not in the cards.
Lebarron Johnson Jr. labored through three shutout innings before getting into a bases loaded, no out jam that saw him pulled in the top of the fourth. Two of those runs would come across to score and put the Tigers ahead for good.
They added four more on a pair of home runs in the seventh, while the Longhorns' lineup showed slight signs of life for a trio of late runs, but the rally was too little too late.
Now they face off against a Bobcats' squad fresh off a walk-off win over the Houston Cougars on Friday night.
