KANSAS CITY, MO. - Texas Longhorns forward Dylan Disu willed his team to the Sweet 16 last week in Des Moines after posting 28 points and 10 rebounds in a dominant effort against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

But as it turns out, putting the team on his back had its effects, as he quickly exited Friday's 83-71 win over No. 3 seed Xavier in Kansas City with a bone bruise despite getting the start and returned to the bench in a walking boot.

Texas interim coach Rodney Terry revealed after the game that Disu suffered the injury in that win over Penn State and worked throughout the week to get ready. The Longhorns will play the No. 5 seed Miami Hurricanes on Sunday, and Terry is listing Disu as "day-to-day."

"It will be day-to-day right now," Terry said. "He got injured in the last ballgame. ... We immediately started trying to work on treatment and trying to see what we could do to put him in the best position.

"We'll put him out there if he's 100 percent, but we're not going to put a young man who has a great future ahead of him out on the floor if he's not ready to be out on the floor."

While Terry didn't rule Disu out for Sunday's game, he'll need to shed the walking boot and feel 100 percent if wants to play against Miami, at least per Terry's comments.

The Longhorns are now one win away from reaching the Final Four. They'll tip-off against Miami on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. CT.
