AUSTIN, Texas -- Former Texas Longhorns guard Sir'Jabari Rice won't have to travel far to potentially see his NBA dreams come true.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday night, Rice has signed a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs, per reports from ESPN. If he impresses at the NBA Summer League, he could potentially join San Antonio's rookie class, which includes No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama and Sidy Cissoko

However, it's likely Rice will spend ample time with the team's G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs, giving him a smooth start to his NBA journey due to the short drive.

Rice, the 2022 Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, helped lead a talented Longhorns squad to the Elite Eight this past season. He averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and two assists while shooting an efficient 46.4 percent from the field.

During his only year in Austin, he was Texas' second-leading scorer despite starting just three games and led the Longhorns in scoring in 11 games. He was arguably the team's best player during certain stretches of the season and was a major reason the Longhorns won the Big 12 Tournament title.

Spurs fans might quickly be drawn to his elite shot-fake and timely decision-making when he potentially suits up alongside Wembanyama at the Summer League.
