Bijan Robinson Chooses Historic Atlanta Falcons Jersey Number

Atlanta rookie running back Bijan Robinson has chosen a legendary Falcons jersey number.

After the Falcons selected Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson with the No. 8 overall pick, one major question was in the minds of Atlanta fans everywhere - what number would he choose for his jersey?

On Tuesday, that decision became official to a close. And it was a notable choice for the Falcons given the history of the number to the franchise.

The Falcons announced that Robinson will wear No. 7 which, since 2019, was worn by kicker Younghoe Koo, who will make a number switch for Robinson, and previously worn on the jersey of quarterback Michael Vick.

During Robinson's collegiate career at the University of Texas, he claimed No. 5, however, that number is already owned by receiver Drake London, 2022 first-round draft pick. Because of this, Robinson was forced to pick another number but chose one quite popular amongst Flacons' fans.

Although Vick has a rocky legacy in the NFL, plenty of No. 7 Vick jerseys are still seen around Atlanta. Now that Robinson claimed the iconic number, even more, No. 7 jerseys will be seen in the years to come.

Robinson's final season with the Longhorns was nothing short of spectacular with 1,580 total yards, 18 touchdowns, and received multiple All-American awards. Due to his stellar collegiate season, Robinson is high on the list to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year, so the prospect will increase the No. 7 jersey popularity.
