As the No. 24 Texas Longhorns prepare to take on the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday at 6:30 pm, they brace themselves for what promises to be a challenging encounter.

With the Aggies boasting a flawless 10-0 record, highlighted by dominant wins over Arizona State and Southern Cal, the Longhorns understand the magnitude of the task at hand.

Despite recent setbacks, including a three-game losing streak at the Astros Foundation College Classic, the Longhorns are more than capable of bouncing back. Plus, the Longhorns have been facing ranked teams whereas the Aggies have not.

After sweeping Cal Poly without allowing a run, the Longhorns faced a setback against No. 3 LSU, which is understandable given the Tigers' strong standing.

However, the subsequent losses to Texas State and No. 9 Vanderbilt, particularly the high-scoring 14-11 defeat, have hindered their momentum heading into Tuesday's game against the Aggies.

Against Vandy, Texas started strong with three runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by a two-run homer by Schuessler. They added four more runs in the third inning, including a homer by Brown.

Despite Vanderbilt erasing their 11-3 lead and going ahead 12-11, Texas fought hard throughout the game, showcasing the fight they will bring against the Aggies.

However, the Horns face a daunting challenge against the Aggies' lineup of power hitters, spearheaded by outfielders Braden Montgomery and Jace LaViolette, who have played pivotal roles in Texas A&M's recent successes.

Aware of the importance of this matchup, the Longhorns are focused on regaining momentum and securing a crucial victory against their soon-to-be SEC rivals.
