Texas Ranked No. 3 in SI's College Football Way-Too-Early Top 25

The Texas Longhorns make Sports Illustrated's Top 25 list for the 2024 football season ranking at No. 3.

Less than a month after the Michigan Wolverines won the college football national championship Sports Illustrated is ready to predict what teams will rise to the top in 2024. 

Boasting at No. 3, only behind the Georgia Bulldogs and Oregon Ducks, SI ranks the Texas Longhorns high on the list. With a roster that looks solid after picking up key players like wide receiver Isaiah Bond, tight end Amari Niblack, and linebacker Kendrick Blackshire all coming from the Alabama Crimson Tide

The Longhorns are gearing up for a promising quarterback scenario, with Quinn Ewers extending for another season and the much-anticipated appearance of Arch Manning in the wings. 

The offensive line is expected to perform well, providing a reliable foundation, and the running backs and receivers exhibit ample skill. While there are defensive gaps to address, Steve Sarkisian's recruiting endeavors have successfully accumulated sufficient talent, instilling confidence in the team's overall depth.
