We went 3-3 last week and it could have been better.

Who knew the Arkansas offense would collapse and only score three points against Mississippi State?

I picked the rest of the SEC correctly as Alabama, Missouri and Ole Miss all covered.

I picked Ohio State to win over Penn State but not cover 4.5. Wrong

I picked Florida State to beat Duke but not  cover 14.5. Wrong again but Duke’s quarterback got hurt.

So on the season we are 20-29. I need to have a strong finish in order to get back to .500. That’s the goal. Wish me luck. I"ll need it.

South Carolina (2-5) at Texas A&M (4-3), (giving 13.5)

Texas A&M has had a week off since back-to-back losses to Alabama and Tennessee  so it's hard to figure who is going to show up for the Aggies. But Texas A&M is playing at home and that should be enough to cover 13.5.

Georgia (7-0) (giving 14.5) vs. Florida (5-2) in Jacksonville. The Gators are coming off their best game of the season against South Carolina while Georgia will be without tight end Brock Bowers, their most productive offensive player. It is tempting to take Florida and all of those points. But this is a rivalry game. I’ll take Georgia will win and the Bulldogs will cover.

Mississippi State (4-3) at Auburn (4-3) (giving 5):  Auburn hung in there with Ole Miss last week before losing 28-21. I expect a very similar game against Mississippi State. Both defenses are playing well. First team to 30 wins. That will be Auburn. So I will take Auburn and give the five points.

Tennesseee (5-2) (giving 3.5) at Kentucky (5-2): I don’t know what to make of this game. Tennessee will have the Alabama hangover and will be playing in its second straight road games.. Kentucky had a week off after getting taken to the woodshed by Georgia and Missouri. It won’t be pretty but I’m taking Tennessee and giving the 3.5.

Vanderbilt at (2-6) at Ole Miss (giving 25.5) (6-1).

There is no question whether or not Ole Miss is going to win this game. The question is can Ole Miss cover that many points with a very important SEC West game with Texas A&M coming up next week. Ole Miss, whose only loss has been to Alabama, has won three strraight and is still in the hunt for the SEC West. I'll take Ole Miss and give the points.

Oregon (6-1) (giving 6.5) at Utah (6-1)

It's pretty simple. Both teams have only one loss in Pac-12 play but the loser will be all but eliminated in the race to reach the conference championship game. Oregon gets the edge because the Ducks have their quarterback (Bo Nix) and Utah has been without Cameron Rising all season. Utah gets it done with defense that is second in the Pac-12 giving up only 15 points per game. Because the game is at Utah I'm taking the Utes and the 6.5 points
