WATCH: Ed Montilus already showing leadership despite his age

The redshirt freshman was candid and thoughtful on Thursday.

Ed Montilius is settling in at left guard, and after the Heels' sixth practice, he spent time with the media discussing breakout defensive stars, the need for consistency on the offensive line and just how hard it is to battle Carolina's veterans.

"(Jason) Strowbridge, he’s so strong and quick and you’ve got to decide," he said. "I have to be quick on my feet and be strong because he can always get you with the bull rush and get right past me. He really gets me better every day.

"Crawford, he’s one of those guys, he gets his hands on you and its’ over. You have to stay balanced with him."
