The most crucial departing player on the most successful USC women's basketball team in 30 years, McKenzie Forbes, is slated to suit up for a WNBA team this summer.

Which team will that be, you ask?

We're all about to find out.

At 4:30 p.m. PT tonight, in the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York, Forbes will be picked in what's looking like a star-studded WNBA draft. It's set to be headlined by Iowa Hawkeyes star point guard Caitlin Clark (the no-brainer first-round pick), South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso, Stanford power forward Cameron Brink, and LSU power forward Angel Reese, all of whom are looking like top-10 selections as of this writing (the latest mock draft from Michael Voepel of ESPN has them all going in the top seven).

Forbes is expected to be drafted near the end of the second round or perhaps the beginning of the third. Voepel projects her going to the Indiana Fever (who also possess the No. 1 pick and thus the rights to Clark) with the No. 27 pick.

Forbes, a six-foot graduate student small forward out of Folsom, joined the Trojans in 2023-24 after an All-Ivy run at Harvard. She was a 2023-24 All-Pac-12 honoree and the Pac-12 Tourney MVP for the champions Trojans this spring. Across her 35 contests for the team this year, she averaged 14.3 points on .384/.374/.781 shooting splits, 3.3 assists, and 3.1 rebounds a night.
