USC Women's Basketball: JuJu Watkins Earns College Hoops Immortal Comp From NBA Hall Of Famer

The USC Trojans women's basketball team had one of its most successful seasons in recent memory, reaching the Elite Eight. The Trojans earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Pac-12 Tournament, giving them a nice advantage.

They ultimately fell to the UConn Huskies but it was still a very productive year. USC was led by freshman superstar JuJu Watkins this year, as she took the college basketball world by storm.

Watkins averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season, showing her strong output. She couldn't be stopped for much of the season and the future is extremely bright for the Trojans.

Her level of play got her noticed all around the game of basketball, receiving praise from some of the best players to ever step on a court. Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard recently said she was similar to former NBA star Carmelo Anthony while he was at Syracuse back in the day.

The way Watkins showed she could score the ball is similar to how Anthony was and she made life very tough on opposing defenses. It was rare for her to have an off night, allowing the Trojans to put together their special year.

With Watkins in the mix going forward, USC looks to be very competitive once again next year. They built something to continue growing from heading into next season and the hope is that this time, they can finish the job.
