USC Football: New Mock Draft Has Brenden Rice Heading to Nostalgic Team

The USC Trojans have plenty of talented players heading to the NFL this draft season. The Trojans are always well represented on draft weekend and it'll be no different this time around.

While star quarterback Caleb Williams is the talk of the draft, the Trojans have other names who could make an impact as well. One of those players is wide receiver Brenden Rice, who put together a nice season with USC this year.

Rice is the son of NFL legend Jerry Rice, so he knows what it takes to make it in the league. In a recent mock draft by CBS writer Chris Trapasso, Rice was taken by his dad's former team, the San Francisco 49ers. Trapasso has the 49ers taking the USC product with pick No. 94 in the third round.

If Rice were to be taken by the 49ers in this draft, it would be an incredible story. His dad is seen as one of the best wide receivers of all time, helping San Francisco win three Super Bowl titles. It would be a full-circle moment for his son to put on the 49ers' uniform and would be nostalgic for all fans.

Rice could help the 49ers passing game increase even more, giving them another talented pass-catcher to use on offense. Last season with the Trojans, Rice put up 791 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He is seen as one of the more underrated players in this draft class, giving thought that he could be taken in the middle of the draft. Rice has the skills to help any team out but just needs to be given a chance to succeed.
