USC QB Caleb Williams Officially Visits With Bears Ahead of NFL Draft

USC quarterback Caleb Williams officially visited the Chicago Bears, who hold the number one pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He saw the team on Wednesday for his Top 30 facility visit, via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport added that this will likely be Williams' only team visit. He is widely expected to be Chicago's selection with the pick.

Williams visited the Bears' facilities 22 days before the draft when he was expected to be drafted first overall by the Chicago Bears. This visit gives Williams and the Bears more time to talk to each other, and will also offer the Bears the chance to have Williams complete medical tests after he opted not to undergo the tests at the NFL Scouting Combine.

This visit comes two weeks after Bears general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus were in attendance at USC's Pro Day in March, where Williams threw in front of the NFL scouts and teams in attendance, impressing with some of his deep passes down the field. Poles and Eberflus were both seen speaking to Williams' dad, Carl Williams, at the Pro Day.

Assuming the visit went well and the Bears do pick Williams number one overall in the draft, Chicago will hope they've finally found their franchise quarterback. The former Heisman Trophy winner is widely considered the top quarterback in this year's draft class and is expected to turn the team that adds him into a contender down the road.
