The Vanderbilt Commodores fell behind and trailed much of the first half to the visiting Islanders of Texas A&M Copus Chrisit on Monday night, but were able to battle back, take the lead and hang on down the stretch for a 71-66 win at Memorial Gym Monday night.
Before a crowd of 8,300 Aaron Nesmith led the Commodores in scoring with 21 points. Teammate Saben Lee tossed in 15 while forward Clevon Brown finished with 12 and freshman Scottie Pippen Jr. joined then in double figures, tossing in 10 points in the win.
