Vanderbilt's bowl hopes officially ended on the turf of Florida Field on Saturday as the Gators took care of business in a 56-0 beat down of the Commodores.

The improved defense battled through the first half to keep the Commodores withing striking distance as they trailed 14-0 at the end of the first half.

Tae Daley intercepted Gators quarterback Kyle Trask twice in the first half, including a touchdown saving pick at the Vanderbilt goal line in the final second of the first half.

The third quarter would be the undoing for the Commodores as the Gators needed just three third quarter plays to add two scores and put the game out of reach for Vanderbilt.

Gators quarterback connected with reciever Trevon Grimes for a 66b yard touchdown on the Gators first offensive play of the thir quater, staking Florida to a 21-0 lead.

After a Commdores three-and-out, it took Trask just two plays to pu the Gators in the endzone again, connecting with  tight end Kyle Pitts on a 15-yard strike to push the lead to 28-0.

The Commodres offense, which was helt to just 12 yards total offense in the first half managed to find life late in the third quarter, driving to the Gators 10 yard line. However, Wallace was sacked by the Gators Mohamoud Diabate at the Vanderbilt 20 yard line. Jonathan Grennard recovered the funble and returned it 79 yards for yet another Gators touchdown and a 35-0 advantage with 5: 2 left in the third quarter.

The Gators would find the endzone again, this time it was backup quarterback Emory Jones racing 13-yards to the endzone to increase the Zgators lead to 42-0 with just seconds left in the third.

Jones would cash in again in the fourth with his second rushing touchdown, this time from one yard out as the Gators continued to pour it on in the second half.

THe Commodores offense was non-existant in the first half, managing just 12 yards in total offense. The numbers weren't much better in the second half, managing 117 yards in total offense.

Once again Deuce Wallace struggled, completing just 7 of 18 passes for 60 yards and one interception before being replaced by redshirt freshman Allan Walters in the fourth quarter.

Walters did not fare much better, ending his lone quarter of play completing just one pass in three attempts for 17 yards.

Ke'Shawn Vaughn was held in check, managing just 28 yards on 15 carries.

For the Gators, Kyle Trask disected the Commodores secondary, specifically in the second half, ending the game  25 of 37 for 367 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was intercepted twice, both by Tae Daley, both coming in the first half.

The Gators emassed 560 total yards, 410 coming through the air with 150 coming on the ground.

Ironically the only stat the Commodores won on the day was time of possession,  holding the football for 33;22 compared to Florida with 26;38.

The duo of Kalijah Liscomb and Jared Pinkney were almost non-existant once again, combining for 14 yards total output, with Lipscomb collecting all 14 yards, 10 on a rush and one reception for four yards.

WIth bowl hopes now gone, the Commodores are left to play out the final three games of the season- Kentucky and East Tennessee State at home and Tennessee on the road- as they look toward next season.
