Home games are supposed to provide an advantage for the home team, but that's not always the case at Vanderbilt Stadium. It definetly wasn't Saturday night as the red clad Bulldog fans from Georgia invaded Nashville and turned their game into a defacto home contest in Nashville.

Former Vanderbilt standout La'Darius Wiley took to social media following the poor turnout by Commodore fans to call out the base for allowing what should have been a black & gold affair to turn red well before kickoff.

This isn't the first time a visiting fanbase has taken over West End. Three years ago it was Alabama who rolled into Nashville on their way to a National Championship and turned the Commodores home field crimson.

There have been other times lately as well, like Tennessee fans and their orange, which to some degree should be expected considering that Vandy is in the state of Tennessee and  the Vols have a far larger fanbase in the Nashville area that don't have to travel far when their team comes here.

What should be unacceptable to Vandy fans though is what was seen last night. Yes there are issues with Vanderbilt Stadium. It's not exactly luxurious like some stadiums. It doesn't have the bells and whistles and flashing lights, but it's still home and fans and alumni alike should still take pride in supporting their team and not allow Georgia, Bama or even UT to own that lot on Jess  Neely ever again.
