Making Something Out Of Nothing?

I'm not one to try to stir the pot or make something out of nothing, so what I'm writing here is a departure of sorts for me but after thinking about content and context of things here goes.
Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason spoke with the media in his weekly press conference and took questions ranging from the Commodores game at Forida to this weeks matchup against Kentucky, you know all the usual things that are asked each week.
When it was over nothing much seemed out of place, but for me there was something that struck me about Mason's response to a question I asked during the conference.
The question centered around the defense of Kentucky.
Last week versus Tennessee, the Wildcats defense repeatedly gave up chunk plays downfield in the second half in pass defense to the Vols receivers Juwan Jennings and Marquez .Calloway,
Having that in mind I asked Mason if he felt his offense could do something similar with Jared Pinkney and Kalijah Lipscomb even thought their offense has struggled this season getting the ball to those playmakers.
What surprised me most of Mason's response was not what he said, but rather what he didn't say. Listen to the video of his response and judge for yourself.
During his answer, Mason mentioned getting quarterback Riley Neal back after missing time with his concussion issues. However, not once in the entire :51 second answer did he mention the names of the two players I asked specifically about in the question.
We know that Lipscomb has had some type personal issues of late, specifically that kept him dreesed, but off the field in South Carolina. Pinkney has had no such issues we are aware of but has spent the majority of the season putting together a stat line that looks more like the third team tight end at LSU than a potential first round NFL draft selection.
Is it just me or do others find it interesting, and perhaps telling of something those of us outside the program don't know.
Again, I'm not one to stir things, create controversy, or attempt to draw attention to myself personally for things I write so I'm typing this while still debating if I should hit delete.
Perhaps it's nothing more than an overactive mind at work, but then again it seems out of place to me that neither player was mentioned by their coach.
